“We are making a difference”

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Bishop McAllister College! School reopened on Monday for the 2nd term of the school year. It has been raining steady making for a cold and wet beginning, but everyone is in good spirits.

I’m happy to report that 1st went very well. It was a busy time throughout with lots of activities. District soccer competitions came to its end without us lifting the champion’s cup for the 2nd time in 8 years. We were disappointed but have taken this as an opportunity to come with a new strategy and approach for future competition’s. We didn’t have long to dwell on our defeat as the entire school became quickly involved in this years series of races in the Resurrection Edition of the Rectors Challenge. Unfortunately due to a sprained ligament I was unable to participate in the races apart from the Staff Race on Holy Saturday. But by then I was very out of shape in many ways. While I managed to complete, I knew I had a lot of work ahead of me as I prepare for the 6th Annual Rectors 5km Challenge in July. The Headmaster, Canon Caleb Twinamatsiko was a great and ran each of the 10 races. RESURRECTION RACE 2012 - "Resurrection Challenge gets More fun and Competitive" BY Tr. Assimwe Alex

The Seminarians also had their day out for Athletics having  a great deal of fun with their Headteacher Miss Matson. Seminary Athletics 2012

Great news! The Eagles Nest Dormitory is nearing completion. We are all very excited, and it is looking wonderful. The remaining window glasses are being installed as I write, much to the joy of the Seminarians. I imagine it is a bit cold sleeping next to the window these past few days.                    EAGLES NEST (DORMITORY) - Nearing Completion!

More great news! We were able to buy the roofing timbers for the Chapel of St. John the Evangelist and they will go up later in June as we wait for funds to buy the iron sheets to complete the roof.

We continue to be blessed in so many ways. We give God all the glory for the great things He continues to do at Bishop McAllister College and in the lives of the all the students and staff. Please continue to keep up us in your prayers as we begin this new term. Of course the weeks will be busy, as we look ahead to Scout Camp, Music Dance & Drama Competitions, Student Geography Trip, and our School Mission.

On behalf of all the students and staff I would like to say thank you for all your prayers and financial support for myself and for this ministry.  By God’s grace, we have done much together to change the lives of so many young Ugandans, and together we have much for which to celebrate and give thanks.  Thank you so much!

May God continue to bless & keep you all!
