“We are making a difference”

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Uganda! Welcome to the new website for Bishop McAllister College and Bishop McAllister Seminary. It is still under construction but soon it will be packed with information and updates about the school.

Let me first of all congratulate you upon entering the New Year, and wish you God’s blessings throughout 2012. We have enjoyed a wonderful two month holiday these ends, and are very excited to have started the new school year this past Monday. It has been great to see everyone return, both the staff and students, well rested, and happy to be back.

Two weeks ago we received wonderful news that has left us very encouraged and excited as we begin the New Year. In November the 13 pioneers of the new Anglican Seminary completed grade 7, and sat for P.L.E. (Primary Leaving Exams). When we received the results we were amazed at how well our students had performed, in fact we hadn’t dared to allow ourselves to have such hopes or expectations. Of the 13 students, 12 had received Division One, and one student had received a very good Division Two. To put it all in perspective, 550,000 children across Uganda sat for these exams and only 9% received Division One. Praise God for his continued blessings on our labours.

Pioneer Candidates - 2011

Another first for Bishop McAllister College was when we published our first ever school magazine, The Eyrie. I would like to congratulate Teacher Alex Asiimwe and his students for this tremendous achievement. It is possible for anyone overseas to have a copy for a small contribution towards postage. Please go The Eyrie for more information.

On Sunday (Feb. 5th) we will have a joint Service of Thanksgiving with the local community, as this will be our first time to be together in the New Year. We are anxious to start the New Year in the right way and that is to first give thanks for all the incredible blessing of 2011, and commend ourselves to God’s gracious keeping for 2012. We will be remembering you all as we give thanks.

On behalf of all the students and staff I would like to say thank you for all your prayers and financial support for myself and for this ministry.  By God’s grace, we have done much together to change the lives of so many young Ugandans, and together we have much for which to celebrate and give thanks.  Thank you so much!

May God continue to bless & keep you all!
