BISHOP McALLISTER COLLEGE OLD STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION LAUNCHED

(Former Band Members showing young ones how its done)

Saturday 12th July 2014 gained red-letter day status here as a large number of old boys and girls returned to the school to launch Bishop McAllister College Old students’ Association (BIMOSA). They were conducted on a tour of the school by the Rector before settling in the Chapel to elect the leaders of the association. Here the interim committee laid out the vision of the association and read out the draft constitution as they prepared to handover the reins to an elected leadership.

A neutral committee comprising serving teachers who are not old students of the school conducted elections for seven leadership positions of the association. Mr Byarugaba Lemmy (Chairman), Lt. Tumuramye Obadiah (Vice Chairman), Mr Nduhura Jonan (Treasurer), Mrs Monica Asiimwe (General Secretary), Mr Atuhaire Yonah Karinguzi ( Public Relations Officer), Nyakahangura Yedidia (Speaker) and Mr Akankwatsa Andrew (Legal Officer)  were elected to run the activities of Bishop McAllister Old Students’ Association for the next two years.

The visiting old boys and girls had lunch with the students queuing up with them at the kitchen just as they did years back. The students loved the experience especially that there was a special meal and a bottle of soda for everyone.

After lunch, students entertained with poetry and dance.

(These Old Dancers joined in but couldn't keep up with the young ones for long)

Before heading for Old Students vs Staff soccer match, they took a few minutes to address the school encouraging students to remain disciplined and keep working hard for the future.

Later in the evening they had a football match with the staff which they won by four goals to two.
